I will seek more efficient government through consolidating services and reducing waste, maximizing resources by implementing best practices, but without cutting services for those in need.
To accomplish the above goals, I will regularly inform voters about county government and seek their guidance in establishing governmental priorities.
When a company contributes campaign money to a county board candidate, then gets a no-bid contract, taxpayers lose. I will work to prevent this sort of waste.
Too often, we have seen former board members get high-paying jobs with county vendors, the so-called revolving door issue.
Such practices raise ethical questions and should be publicized
and prevented if possible.
Businesses or agencies within the county should be given priority in doing county work. Out-of-county sourcing should be justified by special review procedures.
